Job Description

Assists with various activities in the accounting department, including compiling payroll data, processing employee benefits, reconciling ACH bill payments, and coordinating billing from multiple accounts by performing the essential functions below.


  • Charge expenses to accounts and entities by analyzing invoices/expense reports and recording entries
  • Pay vendors by verifying federal ID numbers; scheduling and preparing ACH, wires, and checks; resolving invoice or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credits are received; issuing stop payments or payment amendments
  • Reimburse employees by receiving and verifying expense reports
  • Issue and record excise tax payments
  • Maintain records by scanning and filing documents
  • Collect, review, and audit employee timecards to be used in compiling payroll
  • Compile payroll data such as hours worked, taxes, insurance and employee identification number from time sheets and other records
  • Prepare computer input forms for payroll information received from Human Resources, enter data into computer files, compute wages and deductions, and post to payroll records
  • Record changes affecting net wages such as exemption, insurance coverage, and HSA/IRA contributions for each employee to update master payroll records
  • Keep records of leave pay and nontaxable wages
  • Prepare and issue paychecks working with a 3rd party payroll provider
  • Continue to improve the invoice payment and payroll process
  • Record payments in accounting system
  • Perform other duties, assignments, and special projects as assigned.

Job Requirement


  • Bachelor’s degree or one to two years related experience
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations
  • Knowledge of accounting software’s and payroll systems (NetSuite, SuitePeople)
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages
  • Proven ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
  • Analytical – collects and researches data
