Job Description

Seattle Search Group has teamed up with a full-service General construction contractor specializing in site development and new building construction projects for various federal and state government agencies and commercial companies to find a Construction Superintendent.

Under minimal supervision, the purpose of a Superintendent of Construction is to successfully complete assigned construction projects, on schedule and within budget, through the supervision and execution of the day-to-day field operations. Primary duties include jobsite safety, scheduling the workforce, coordination of all subcontractors and owner contractors, quality control, material procurement, preparation of timecards and daily reports. As the company representative in the field, it is imperative that the Superintendent practices good communication techniques with the Owner, Owner’s architects or engineers, the home office and the Project Manager. Equipment operation or physical labor may be required to fulfill the job. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Communicate clear safety hazards to all associates and identify on an ongoing basis. 
  • Ensure clear communication is provided to Client, subcontractors, engineers/architects and Owner representatives as it relates to the project. 
  • Drive high quality performance in the team through supervising, coaching and quality feedback. 
  • Use pre-construction meeting to ensure clear understanding of budget/schedule and SOW 
  • Conduct independent project reviews to assess outcomes of projects against established project goals. 
  • Drive high performance in project team through clear planning, leadership, effective supervision and quality coaching/feedback. 
  • Report project status to Project Manager on a regular interval as determined in the pre-construction meeting. 

Job Requirement

  • High school degree or GED equivalency required.
  • 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in the construction industry required.
  • 2-3 years of supervisory experience in the construction industry desired.
  • Clear communicator, team player, flexibility, positive thinker and highly organized.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office software products desired.
  • Ability to speak English required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills desired.
