Job Description
Controller
Seattle Search Group is looking for a Controller to manage all financial and accounting functions for a growing manufacturing company. The Controller will handle both internal and external financial reporting, manage accounts payable/receivable, oversee cash flow, and drive financial planning and forecasting. This position will also manage the audit process and lead a small team of accounting professionals. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Controller will collaborate with senior staff on strategic initiatives and contribute to overall financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Collaborate with senior management to align financial operations with business strategy.
Provide financial guidance to department heads and ensure budget alignment.
Lead the accounting team, including performance management and training.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Review and approve daily and monthly accounting entries.
Oversee reconciliations and ensure adherence to GAAP and internal policies.
Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash disbursements.
Collaborate with external auditors and ensure timely submission of tax filings.
Monitor manufacturing costs and maintain systems to track profitability.
Maintain and improve internal controls and business processes.
Additional duties as assigned.
Job Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including team management.
Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and cost control in a manufacturing environment.
CPA/CMA preferred but not required.
Strong knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to lead a team, work collaboratively with others, and meet tight deadlines.
Working Conditions:
Office-based role with occasional interaction in production environments.
Physical activity limited to light administrative duties (e.g., typing, filing).
Schedule:
Standard 40-hour work week, with occasional flexibility for meetings and key projects.
