Job Description

Seattle Search Group, the frontrunner in executive search and staffing, has teamed up with the premier leader in design-build construction specializing in precast concrete based out of Cashmere, WA to find a Financial Controller

The Controller manages all financial elements of the business including P&L, balance sheets, taxes, and cost accounting in operations and budgets. This position collaborates across teams to track cost of operations, set budgets, and direct financing strategies/planning and create and maintain efficient administrative systems.

Job Duties

  • Establish cost-of-goods and tracking of expenses to establish product pricing
  • Create, maintain, and enforce documented accounting procedures
  • Evaluate, design, implement, and monitor internal financial controls, accounting processes and policies for efficiency, cost effectiveness, and accuracy
  • Research accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Prepares and consolidates financial statements and projections, including journal entries
  • Manages all aspects of the general ledger
  • Provides monthly, quarterly and year-end analysis
  • Thorough cashflow analysis to assist in all company financial decisions, responsible for transactions, reporting, and compliance including audits
  • Prepares and consolidates financial statements and projections
  • General administrative responsibilities in accounting audits and regulatory compliance, participates in external financial audits
  • Establishes and maintains internal controls
  • Support efforts and research into reducing production and operating costs through Job Cost Analysis
  • Bank Reconciliations
  • Preparation and payment of State Sales/Use Taxes
  • Contract Management
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Reviews accuracy of project estimates and bid proposals, when needed
  • Imports estimates and enters change orders and change order budgets into accounting software
  • Direct and oversee all accounting functions including support and training of staff

Must be able to analyze and research company data in order to provide financial reporting that will help guide good business decisions that improve the company’s productivity and profitability
Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office Suites
Must have experience with Sage 300 CRE Accounting Software
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, discretion and confidentiality

Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field
5-7 years of experience as a Full Controller, or similar financial role, preferably in the construction field'
