Job Description

Seattle Search Group has teamed up with the Northwest’s leader in monument manufacturing to find a Production Manager for their Kent, WA location. With over 100 years of family tradition providing outstanding customer service, excellent design, and trustworthy manufacturing, Quiring Monuments has been awarded multiple times for their design & creation of unique custom monuments, headstones, & grave markers. 
 
Objectives:     
  • Establish a strong culture and established processes for training
  • Utilization of good communication strategies and rhythms
  • Offer recognition and feedback to the team on a regular basis  
  • Provide team with the tools, training and oversight needed to succeed, improve, and maximize efficiencies
  • Working with others, delegating, and supervising, to create a positive, safe, productive environment
  • Commitment to a culture of safety 
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for overall management of the Production department (Flat Markers, Uprights, Inscriptions, On-sites, etc.)
  • Plans, schedules, and oversees workflow for each area of Production
  • Leader on the Production floor, guiding, assisting, mentoring, driving culture
  • Liaison and bridge between Production, Delivery, Art & Customer Service
  • Interface with Customer Service, Art, Delivery and Administrative departments in a timely and cooperative manner
  • Quality Control oversight, implementation of a consistent QC process
  • Weekly communication meeting with Production team to review scheduling, staffing, training, quality control, recognition, feedback, etc.
  • Implement Job Matrix & Training program to enhance development and retention  
  • Daily/Weekly review of SS buckets in Production department    
  • Scheduling and coordination with Delivery department to maximize routes and with CSR’s regarding special requests, etc.
  • Timely response to digital communication such as SS, Teams, and E-mail.
  • Prepare production schedule for Upright Monuments utilizing SS and Excel
  • Plan and prepare on-site engraving schedule for the season
  • Responsible for continuous improvement initiatives and establishment of standards for each area within the Production division
  • Technology point person in Production department for training/best practices on SS, Teams, Labels, etc.
  • Weekly communication with Art Dept. Mgr to review challenging designs, lettering etc. with examples provided
  • Prepares lists of required materials, tools, and equipment
  • Responsible for development and implementation of Best Practices
  • Oversee and participate in all employee reviews in Production department
  • Participation in weekly Leadership meeting with other department managers 
  • Aditionally assist where needed

Job Requirement

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Extensive knowledge of all aspects of monument production.
  • Ability to use and maintain all machinery and equipment.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to use various computer programs (StoneSpot, Teams, Outlook, Excel)
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and education
