Job Description

Seattle Search Group, the frontrunner in executive search and staffing, has teamed up with the premier leader in sustainable commercial fishing based out of Seattle, WA to find an in-house recruiter to join their company.

The Recruiter will play a vital role in creating, implementing, and managing successful recruitment strategies. This is an exempt position under the supervision of the Human Resources Manager. 
The Recruiter’s primary goals and objectives will be focused on meeting or exceeding the organizations’ hiring objectives for at-sea employment of qualified workers.

SUMMARY OF PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the Company’s processingoperations and job requirements.
  • Requires strong recruiting skills for sourcing crew members. May require overnightrecruiting trips outside the Seattle area.
  • Involves occasional work on weekends and evenings depending on vessel schedules.
  • Forecast upcoming crew rotations, coordinate crew scheduling/crew needed with thevessel
  • Screen applications, conduct one-on-one interviews and verify employment referencechecks and background checks in accordance with Company standards andrequirements.
  • Schedule and Contract crew members.
  • Arrange flights to and from the vessel.
  • Maintain crew lists, personnel files, unemployment records, etc. for all crew members
  • Maintain all pertinent applicant and interview data
  • Schedule various trainings for crew members
  • Coordinate print and media advertising placements
  • Network through industry contacts
  • Maintain HR metrics- retention rate, recruiting analysis, current crew analysis

Job Requirement

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly with a wide range of audiences.
  • Must be a confident interviewer with critical thinking skills and mature judgment.
  • Strong time-management skills.
  • Must be a self-starter, able to set priorities, accountable for results and demonstratingfollow through on commitments.
  • Must be organized.
  • Must possess a high degree of personal integrity and be fair and professional in dealings with others.
  • Must be able and willing to adhere consistently to the hiring and screening protocols established by the organization.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma
  • Successful background in personnel-related or administrative work.
  • Experience in dealing with the public.
  • Knowledge of personal computer and software packages including Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel and Outlook) and functional understanding of the Internet.
  • Maritime Experience preferred
