Senior Payroll Coordinator
Seattle Search Group is looking for a Senior Payroll Coordinator to join an established team. This position is responsible for handling complex payroll processes, supporting union payroll activities, and serving as the payroll subject matter expert. The ideal candidate will be skilled in payroll systems, union payrolls, and troubleshooting payroll-related issues.
Responsibilities:
Complex Payroll Activities:
Serve as the payroll subject matter expert, handling internal inquiries and troubleshooting system issues.
Process payrolls, including staff and complex union payrolls.
Interpret and apply union contract provisions and organize payroll requirements accordingly.
Assist in payroll account reconciliations to the general ledger and union reports.
Support payroll audits (internal and external).
Provide backup to Payroll Accountants when needed.
Day-to-Day Payroll Activities:
Perform complex payroll processing tasks, including importing files from the timesheet system and running payroll across multiple systems.
Set up union pay rates and standard costs in the payroll system as per union contracts.
Calculate wages, overtime, and handle both automated and manual payroll processes.
Analyze payroll data for inconsistencies and ensure accuracy.
Apply job costing principles to payroll inputs.
Manage paycheck advance requests and complete union reporting.
Maintain system data for changes such as rate adjustments, garnishments, union dues, 401k contributions, vacation funds, and other deductions.
Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance payroll efficiency.

Deliver exceptional customer service, consistently meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
Job Requirement
Experience with payroll systems and handling union payrolls.
Ability to read and apply union contract provisions.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to payroll data.
Familiarity with payroll audits and general ledger reconciliation.
Knowledge of payroll-related deductions and garnishments.
Customer-focused approach to service delivery.
