Senior Revenue Accountant
Seattle Search Group is recruiting for a dynamic organization making groundbreaking advancements in its industry. We are seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant, who will be the primary subject matter expert in revenue accounting and take the lead in several areas of the order-to-cash process. The role will focus on analyzing customer contracts to ensure revenue treatment complies with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The Senior Revenue Accountant will be responsible for determining revenue treatment under ASC 606, maintaining revenue systems, processing customer invoices, and performing month-end close activities related to revenue. In this position, you will also work closely with various departments such as Finance, Legal, and Operations to support contract negotiations and manage contract performance post-award. Additionally, you will collaborate with Accounting and Finance leadership to meet monthly reporting requirements and maintain internal controls for compliance with US GAAP and Government Accounting Standards. A key aspect of this role is driving process improvements and seeking opportunities for automation to enhance efficiency. Responsibilities:- Oversee the revenue recognition process according to GAAP and applicable standards such as ASC 606 and IAS 20.
- Review and recommend revenue recognition methodologies for customer contracts.
- Manage the full cycle of intercompany accounting.
- Collaborate with teams across finance, operations, contracts, and tax to assess and structure revenue contracts, including those with multi-element arrangements.
- Maintain revenue subledger and ensure accurate customer billing.
- Perform month-end close tasks, including journal entries, reconciliations, and revenue analysis.
- Provide guidance and training on revenue recognition to accounting and finance teams.
Job Requirement
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in revenue accounting, with strong knowledge of ASC 606.
- Thorough understanding of US GAAP and internal financial reporting controls.
- A proactive mindset with a passion for building and improving processes.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and foster collaboration.
- Must meet legal eligibility requirements for employment (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylum status).
